Staggerd three teir

The Lake City Skiers are a competitive water ski show team

located in Warsaw, Indiana. Practices for the upcoming season generally begin

in February each year to prepare for our shows starting in early June.

Throughout the summer, practices are Monday and Wednesday evenings, with

performances on Sunday and Tuesday evenings free to the public on Hidden Lake

located at the junction of state road 15 and U.S. 30. For the 2009 Show schedule Click Here

The Lake City Skiers Water Ski club was founded in 1989. As we enter our 18th

season we’ve grown to approximately 80 members ranging from 4 to 65 years of

age. The team has members from Kosciusko, Marshall, Allen, Noble, Fulton,

Wabash, Elkhart and Whitley counties.

Each year a different theme, music, costumes and acts are

selected by the show director, who is elected by team members at the end of the

previous season. Acts included in our shows require practice, experience, hard

work and dedication to accomplish. Shows usually consist of high-speed bare

footing, beautiful ballet line, amazing jumping, graceful swivel skiing, and

the always dangerous around the boat. Throw in numerous dance routines and

comedy acts, both on and off the water, and you have the elements of a show ski performance.

The show can’t go on without support personnel including, tow boat drivers,

safety boat crews, announcer, costume designers, dock crew, equipment

maintenance and design, tow boat safety observers, choreographers, theme

writers, sound system operators, ad sales people and publicity coordinators,

all of whom play a key role in making our team and performances successful.

Much of the equipment used in our shows has been designed specifically made for

show skiing and is only available through specialty dealers, to provide the

utmost in safety to our performers. Our towboats are equipped with special high

performance engines, propellers and tow pylons to withstand the demands that

show skiing places on equipment. The skis, harnesses, ropes, handles and safety

releases used are specially made show skiing.

Teamwork is a key component and necessary to succeed rather than individual

achievement. We pride ourselves on our team spirit and effort to involve all of

our members in the club activities regardless of age or skill. The acts you

will see require expert instruction and many hours of practice by skiers, boat

drivers and dock and equipment personnel.

We encourage you to come and enjoy our performances. Our

performances provide family entertainment and national level quality water

skiing, right here in your own backyards.

Our club is pleased to accept new members and offers many opportunities

to participate, learn new skills, and enjoy the fun and friendship of our club.
